This nice little Galand 'deluxe' Mignon pocket revolver was marketed for female customers as a concealed self-defence weapon. The six shot cylinder is chambered in .22 short (5,6mm) and comes with a nickel plated leather case. The case was probably a general model made to fit revolvers with larger barrels. Condition is very good with a small tear in the cover lid where the casing and leather meet. The ivory grip plates are intact. The engravings are detailed and the gun retains almost all of its original finish. Some superficial rust spots in the deeper checkered relief parts. Marked 'Galand Paris' on the barrel and ELG proof marks on the cylinder. 'L' and number '2' punch on the cylinder. A very nice revolver from the famous French gunmaker Charles-François Galand (1832-1900).
