Kolibri starting pistol
Deutsches Reich 1920's
A very rare single-shot starting pistol from the late 1920's. Chambered for 6mm flobert blanks. These pistols were used for starting races and other athletic events during the German Reich period. Produced by 'WKS' in Germany. Marked 'Kolibri WKS' and 'D.R.G.M. Deutschland'. D.R.G.M. stands for Deutsches Gebrauchsmuster, which translates to "German Imperial Registered Design" or "German National Utility Model". It was a form of intellectual property protection for items (not processes) used in Germany from 1891 through World War II. Condition is good with some loss to the nickel finish.
